SQA National Qualification
As an approved centre, Vally Plant Training are able to offer the S/NVQ qualification in Plant operations level 2, site supervisor level 3 and the management of lifting operations level 5 in construction.
Gaining the relevant NVQ/SVQ will allow you to progress through the CITB and NPORS/CSCS scheme and change from a Red Trained Operator card to a Blue competent Operator card and this needs to be completed within 2 years after gaining the Red plant operator card. You must register to sit the S/NVQ for categories of plant on your red card.
The timescale required to complete the S/NVQ is 10 weeks in which time you will have the time to gather the relevant evidence required to achieve the Plant Operations Level 2 S/NVQ
We can help you to gain your Blue CPCS or NPORS/CSCS Card's and register you with SQA today.
- OSAT (on site assessment and training) – Being assessed in the workplace actually at work, where the product of your work is used to show you have achieved the standards required.
- EWPA (experienced worker practical assessment) – A simulated assessment with one of Vally Plant Training assessor's where you will undertake specifically designated tasks to show you have achieved the standards required. We still require 10 weeks before we can claim the S/NVQ
If you pay into the CITB levy then you will be entitled to a grant towards the cost of the S/NVQ. Vally Plant Training do not offer any grants but will guide you to the CITB Levy site
Cost of the S/NVQ
As long as your card is still current and you have completed the CSCS health and safety test within the last two years then our charges for the initial S/NVQ include's registration and the cost of your New Blue card, there are NO other hidden charges. There will be a charge for any additional S/NVQ's you may need to do.
£695.00 Plus VAT is the price for the initial S/NVQ level 2
£195.00 Plus VAT is the price for any additional categories that you may need to do. S/NVQ Level 2
£999.00 Plus VAT is the price for level 3-5
S/NVQ 2 Plant Operations:
The Scottish Vocational Qualification in Plant Operations.
This assessment is designed for Plant Operators who wish to gain a Level 2, S/NVQ in Specialised Plant and Machinery Operations. On completion of the S/NVQ you will be eligible to apply for the Blue Competent Operator Cards .
S/NVQ 2 Lifing Operations:
The Scottish Vocational Qualification (S/NVQ 2) in Controlling Lifting Operations: Slinger/Signaller (Construction) allows learners to demonstrate competence in job-related skills in their particular area of work and expertise.
This qualification covers areas such as slinging and signalling the movement of suspended loads; conforming to general workplace health, safety and welfare; and conforming to productive work practices
